Step-by-Step Guide: How to Change System Language on Windows 8

One of the helpful features that were released in Windows 7 and have been developed in Windows 8 is the possibility of adding different languages to Windows.

 In addition to the keyboard for typing in the desired language, Windows messages and menus are also changed.

Adding some languages to Windows requires connecting to the Internet and receiving the desired language package.

Then that language is added to Windows, and you can activate one of the different languages you have added in any situation according to your needs.

In the Windows 8 operating system, several different languages are pre-installed in it, which you can read and type in.

Also, if the language you want is not already installed, you can easily download and install that language pack.

Here’s how to do it.

1. Log into the Account where you want to change the language.

2. Open the Start.

3. Go to PC Settings.

4. On the PC Settings screen, click on Time and Language.

6. Add a language from the Time and Language settings page.

7. Click a language from the list.

Note: When you do so, you may get another page (like below) of regional selections.

8. To get the language pack to install, you need to click it from the list then tap Options.

9. On the language options page, click on the Download section.

Note: that downloading and installing this task takes time, maybe about 10 minutes.

After doing that, you will see the following page.

In the upper left corner tap the back arrow to get back to the time and language screen.

10. Tap the back arrow in the upper left corner to get back to the time and language screen. 

11. Click the language again then tap Set as Primary.

12. To get the change to take effect, you’ll need to either sign out and back in or restart your Surface.
