How to Downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10: Step-by-Step Guide

Although Windows 11 was released with many new features in October 2021, it is not preferred by some people, and its upheaval design may not to be every user’s taste. Downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10 (If Your Device Has Been Updated to Windows 11 within the Last 10 Days)

  2. Select the System option from the left-side pane.
  3. Choose the Recovery option and expand it.
  4. On the pop-up page, hit the Go back button.
  5. In the pop-up window, you will need to give a reason why you want to go back to Windows 10. Checkmark the box of your desired option.
  6. Hit the Next button.
  7. On the next page, hit the No, thanks button if it asks you for updates.
  8. Hit the Next button, but before that, make sure that you remember your login password.
  9. On the next page, hit the Go back to earlier build button. This action will restart your PC after several minutes.

Downgrade Windows 11 to Windows 10 (If Your Device Has Been Updated to Windows 11 in More Than 10 Days)

In case you have had Windows 11 for more than 10 days or you could not find the option mentioned in the previous method, you will need to reinstall Windows 10. Note that you will need to back up your PC. To do so, follow the steps below:

  1. First of all, go to the Microsoft website and then head to Windows 10 download page.
  2. Hit the Download Now button under the Create Windows 10 installation media section.
  3. Once the download process has finished, open the downloaded file.
  4. Now, a window will pop up which asks you Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?, hit the Yes button.
  5. On the next page, hit the Accept button to agree to Windows’ terms and conditions.
  6. On the next page, choose the Upgrade this PC now option.
  7. Then, hit the Next button.
  8. Now, Windows 10 will be downloaded. During this time, you can still use your PC.
  9. When the download process is finished, hit the Next and then the Accept button.
  10. Once the Choose what to keep window popped up, hit the Nothing button and then the Select button one more time.
  11. Now, you will be headed to the Ready to install page.
  12. Hit the Install button. Note that there is no rollback from this step.
  13. Once the installation process has finished, follow the steps as if you are using your device for the first time.

The other way is to use a USB to install Windows on it. This is an effective method when you want to install Windows 10 on multiple devices since you will need to download it once.
